ScribeUp, an AI-driven provider of embedded recurring bill management for financial institutions, has raised a $13 million Series A led by Curql, with participation from Mucker Capital and Service Ventures; the round combines $10 million of equity and a $3 million venture debt facility. ScribeUp’s platform sits inside a bank’s existing digital channels and pairs recurring payment data with account context so customers can act on their bills, canceling an unused subscription, switching the card linked to a biller, drawing on an advance, or moving an outside loan, without leaving the banking app, using agentic technology. The main objective is to help banks and credit unions own the recurring billing layer of embedded finance as AI assistants and personal finance apps compete for it, with the capital funding AI-native intelligence, agentic execution, hiring, and go-to-market; ScribeUp counts more than 60 banks, credit unions, fintechs, and neobanks as clients. Key players include ScribeUp CEO and co-founder Jordan Mackler, who said institutions that win the recurring layer “win a user’s spend and banking primacy,” and lead investor Curql.
