Synapse Analytics, an Abu Dhabi-headquartered AI company building agentic decisioning infrastructure for regulated financial institutions, has raised $13 million in Series A funding led by Partech, with participation from Algebra Ventures and Silicon Badia, bringing total funding to $17 million since its 2018 founding in Cairo. The main objective is to give banks, non-banking financial institutions, fintechs, and telcos across the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America banktech AI tools for credit and risk decisioning that run inside their own technology perimeter—on-premise, private, public, sovereign cloud, or air-gapped—so institutions can capture AI-native speed without sending sensitive data outside their control. The new capital will scale the team, accelerate product development, and expand into new markets. Key players include Synapse Analytics co-founder and CEO Ahmed Abaza, who said the funding gives the company “the backing of a leading global technology investor to pursue the next stage” of its mission, and Partech principal Lewam Kefela.
