Light, the Austin, Texas-based power company enabling embedded electricity products for businesses, founded by former Plaid Head of Product Baker Shogry, has raised $46 million in a Series A led by Matrix and joined by Activate Capital and existing investors including Spark Capital, Mischief, Gigascale Capital, MCJ, and BoxGroup, bringing total funding to approximately $60 million and total capital base including credit facility to over $100 million. Through its API platform, companies across real estate, battery and solar, mobility, and fintech can launch branded electricity plans tailored to their customers in as little as two weeks, with Light managing the entire energy stack including compliance, wholesale procurement, billing, customer support, and Virtual Power Plant operations. Light’s partner network already reaches more than 30% of all U.S. residential solar sales and over 500,000 homeowners, with partners including Palmetto, GoodLeap, Emporia, and Moved, and 100% of new electricity brands entering the Texas market in H1 2026 launched on the platform.
