Helcim, a Calgary-based payments company, has raised $53 million in Series C funding led by BDC Capital’s Growth Venture Fund, with participation from new investors Curql Collective and Gold House Ventures alongside existing backers Headline and Aquiline Capital Partners. The round values Helcim at $250 million, up from $97 million following its 2024 Series B, bringing its total equity raised since its 2022 Series A to $100 million. The main objective is to expand Helcim’s proprietary payments platform to serve more mid-sized businesses across North America, building on its volume-based interchange-plus pricing model, which the company positions as an alternative to flat-rate payment providers. Helcim has surpassed $150 million in annual recurring revenue and processes nearly $10 billion in payments annually, serving more than 22,000 active businesses with a team of approximately 200 employees.
