Harris Computer, a Constellation Software subsidiary and global vertical market software acquirer, has acquired TouchBistro, the Toronto-based cloud POS and restaurant management system that powers 16,000+ restaurants across 100+ countries, in a deal reportedly valued at approximately $100 million, a significant discount to the hundreds of millions raised from venture investors over the company’s history. TouchBistro’s 300-person team joins Harris, where it will operate as part of Harris’s growing restaurant technology portfolio. The acquisition reflects continued consolidation in restaurant PAYMENTS and POS technology, where competition from Toast and shifting fintech valuations have pressured standalone vendors.
