Uber has agreed to acquire Delivery Hero for €41.50 per share in a deal valuing the German food delivery and E-COMMERCE giant at $14.8 billion, gaining operations across 50 markets, spanning brands including Baedal Minjok in South Korea, Glovo across multiple countries, HungerStation in Saudi Arabia, talabat across the Middle East, and PedidosYa across Latin America, which collectively generated $42 billion in gross bookings last year. In a separate transaction, New York-based SSW Partners agreed to acquire Delivery Hero’s businesses in 14 additional markets, including foodora across Scandinavia, Glovo in Spain and Poland, and Yemeksepeti in Turkey, for approximately $1.6 billion. Uber already held a ~25% direct stake in Delivery Hero and committed to keeping its Berlin headquarters open through at least 2029.
