Gauntlet, the New York-based CRYPTO digital asset risk and optimization firm that curates more than $1.5 billion in supplied assets across 150+ protocol integrations and has previously partnered with Securitize on tokenized Apollo credit fund yield products, has raised $125 million in a Series C led exclusively by SBI Holdings through its U.S. subsidiary, the largest funding round in the company’s history and one of the largest in DeFi this year, following a $24 million Series B in 2022 backed by Ribbit Capital, Coinbase, and Paradigm. The capital is earmarked for three priorities: expanding stablecoin infrastructure beyond USD and EUR to MXN, JPY, and additional currencies; growing the global team with an AI-supported operating model; and deploying new capital to launch additional on-chain products. For SBI, which is simultaneously rolling out JPYSC (Japan’s first trust bank-backed yen stablecoin), RLUSD, and USDC domestically, the investment reflects its view that risk management and yield infrastructure are foundational prerequisites for institutional-grade digital asset adoption at scale.
