Kapital, a Mexico City–based neobank, has achieved unicorn status with a $100M Series C round co-led by Tribe Capital and Pelion Ventures, doubling its valuation to $1.3B. Founded in 2020, Kapital serves 300,000 SME customers across Mexico, Colombia, and the U.S., offering business accounts, loans, and wealth tools, and is supported by its 2023 acquisition of Banco Autofin for a full banking license. The funds will fuel the build-out of its AI-powered financial ecosystem, positioning Kapital as Latin America’s first AI fintech unicorn with a $3B balance sheet and growing regional presence.
