KnowBe4, the publicly traded company that offers simulated phishing attacks and security awareness training, has agreed to be acquired by Vista Equity Partners for $4.6 billion. For being taken private, KnowBe4 stockholders will receive $24.90 in cash for each share. KnowBe4 will have access to more resources and assistance through Vista, which will help it reach performance benchmarks faster, and provide greater value to its clients. The acquisition also highlights a growing trend in mergers and acquisitions where private equity is seeing tremendous value in beaten-down enterprise software companies in the public markets.
