PhotonPay, a Hong Kong-based global fintech founded in 2015, has raised a $40 million Series C led by Blockchain Capital, with new investor SBI Group and follow-on investments from IDG Capital, GL Ventures, and Lightspeed Faction. Its API-first Financial OS combines multi-asset wallets for stablecoins and fiat, foreign exchange, global card issuing, embedded finance, and local clearing; PhotonPay reports $65 billion in annualized transaction volume as of August 2026 and holds 34 payment and financial licenses across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. The main objective is to strengthen its stablecoin wallet capabilities, expand card issuing and local clearing, and develop an agent-ready financial execution layer, building on a May 2026 live demonstration with Mastercard of an agent-initiated payment on a tokenized card. Key players include CEO Lewison Chen, who said the Financial OS makes the underlying infrastructure “far less visible to businesses,” and lead investor Blockchain Capital.
