ID Finance, a Barcelona-based specialty finance group, has closed €545 million in combined debt and equity for Plazo, its consumer finance platform in Spain, in a round led by Spice Expeditions, WashU, Kingsway Capital, and i80 Group; the debt-equity split was not disclosed. i80 Group provided asset-based financing, building on a $150 million facility it supplied in 2024, and Plazo, launched in 2021, reached bottom-line profitability at the end of 2025. The main objective is to scale Plazo’s flexible credit offering, including its Turrón by Plazo e-money account, debit card, and buy now, pay later product launched in July, supported by AI-powered technology infrastructure, with the company targeting a Plazo credit portfolio of around €200 million. Key players include ID Finance co-founder Alexander Dunaev, who called the round a strong vote of confidence in modernizing consumer credit in Spain, and i80 Group managing director Peter Frank, who praised the company’s risk management.
