Spiko, a London and Paris-based fintech behind a platform for tokenised money market funds, has raised a $90 million Series B led by NEA, with participation from Index Ventures, Bpifrance, Speedinvest, Flourish Ventures, Shapers, White Star Capital, and others, plus angels including former Bundesbank president Axel Weber and the founders of Qonto, bringing total funding to $120 million. Spiko issues and distributes its own regulated cash funds onchain in euros, US dollars, sterling, and Swiss francs, using stablecoin-style infrastructure and smart contracts to make cash programmable, with instant withdrawals today and hourly-accruing yield planned. The main objective is to make cash earn by default by extending RWA tokenization of money market funds to entrepreneurs, smaller businesses, nonprofits, and smaller institutions that lack wholesale market access, launching new products, and building local teams in Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and the Nordics. Key players include Spiko co-founder and CEO Paul-Adrien Hyppolite, who said “yield should be universal,” and NEA managing director and head of Europe Philip Chopin.
