Ryft, a Manchester-based payment services provider for marketplaces, platforms, and multi-location ecommerce businesses, has raised £20 million ($26.7 million) in what it calls the largest UK payments Series B of 2026, led by Gresham House Ventures, with existing investors Pembroke VCT and Ingenii Capital participating and PXN Ventures joining as a new backer. Ryft’s platform handles card acceptance, recurring billing, automated split payments, seller onboarding, and escrow for more than 6,500 businesses including Epos Now and Sprive, and has tripled its transaction processing volume over the past year. The main objective is to fund expansion into Europe and the US; as part of that push, Ryft has applied to the Malta Financial Services Authority for a full EU licence that would let it passport services across the European Economic Area. Key players include Ryft co-founder and CEO Sadra Hosseini, who said the round lets the company “take what we’ve built in the UK into new European markets,” and Gresham House partner Rohit Mathur, who noted that modern commerce increasingly runs on platforms rather than simple two-party transactions.
