Grab Holdings, Southeast Asia’s largest ride-hailing and food-delivery company, is reportedly in talks to buy a majority stake in Singapore-based buy-now-pay-later platform Atome Financial, a unit of Advance Intelligence Group, in a deal that could value the unit at more than $2 billion. Deliberations are ongoing with no final decision made; Atome offers installment payment options across fashion, beauty, travel, and lifestyle retailers online and in-store, and posted an 80% revenue jump to $470 million last year, marking its second straight year of pre-tax profitability. The main objective is to expand Grab’s ecommerce and financial-services ecosystem through acquisitions, following its earlier 2026 purchases of Stash Financial ($425 million) and Foodpanda’s Taiwan operations ($600 million) from Delivery Hero. Key players include Grab, which is seeking growth through M&A as its US-listed shares have fallen amid broader market pressure, and Advance Intelligence Group, whose backers include SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Warburg Pincus.
