20Face, the Enschede-based Dutch facial recognition developer founded in 2017 as a University of Twente spinout that builds its algorithms entirely in-house without requiring customers to hand raw BIOMETRIC data to a third party, has secured a new investment from 819 Capital Partners through the 819 Evergreen Fund, alongside existing investors Value Creation Capital and Oost NL. The company’s privacy-by-design architecture converts enrollment photographs into facial vectors that are immediately deleted, giving users full control to grant or revoke recognition permissions per location, and serves clients including INEOS, Secure Logistics, and World Port Centre Rotterdam across physical access control in offices, logistics, healthcare, and high-security environments. The raise arrives as Europe’s EUDI Wallet rollout accelerates demand for privacy-preserving, sovereignty-respecting identity infrastructure ahead of the end-of-2026 member state deadline.
