Crypto.com has launched Tokenized Stocks, a new capital markets tech offering that gives users exposure to U.S. equities and ETFs directly through the Crypto.com App, initially covering 1,500 underlying stocks and funds with access starting from just $1. The product is a form of RWA tokenization: derivative instruments that track the price of assets like NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, and commodity ETFs such as GLD and SLV, offering 24/7 trading, fractional investing, and fast settlement, though holders don’t receive legal ownership or shareholder rights in the underlying securities. The underlying assets are held in custody with Alpaca, a U.S.-regulated self-clearing broker-dealer that the release says supports the large majority of the tokenized U.S. stocks and ETF market. The objective is to extend Crypto.com’s multi-asset ecosystem by modernizing traditional equities trading with blockchain-based speed and round-the-clock access, targeting eligible users in the EEA and other approved jurisdictions. Key players are Crypto.com Co-Founder and CEO Kris Marszalek, who called it a way to give users “instant access to U.S. equity and ETF exposure,” and Foris Capital CY Limited, the CySEC-regulated entity issuing the tokenized products in the EEA.
