Visa announced an expanded partnership with Bridge, a stablecoin infrastructure platform owned by Stripe, to scale stablecoin-linked Visa card programs globally. These cards allow users to spend stablecoin balances from crypto wallets at any of Visa’s more than 175 million merchant locations, with transactions converted to fiat at the point of sale. The program is currently live in 18 countries and is expected to expand to more than 100 countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East. Visa is also testing stablecoin settlement for issuers and acquirers using blockchain networks, aiming to improve payment efficiency, settlement flexibility, and on-chain reconciliation.
