Confido Legal, an embedded payments platform built specifically for law firms and the legal technology companies that serve them, has raised $9 million in seed and Series A funding, led by Aquiline Capital Partners and The Legaltech Fund, to expand its compliant embedded payments and digital disbursement infrastructure for law firms. The company offers a legal-specific API that integrates payment acceptance, trust accounting (IOLTA compliance), and outbound settlement disbursements into practice management platforms. Confido serves over 1,500 firms, primarily through technology partners such as Clio and Litify. The company aims to become the core financial infrastructure for the legal industry by embedding regulatory compliance and trust-account workflows into a vertically integrated fintech stack, setting itself apart from generic processors like Stripe.
