The deal integrates OpenPay’s AI-driven retention tools, flexible billing models, and innovative payment routing into Airwallex’s cross-border infrastructure, creating what it calls the first genuinely global billing platform designed for multi-currency and usage-based subscriptions. The acquisition strengthens Airwallex’s position against competitors like Stripe Billing and Recurly.
