MNT-Halan, an Egyptian fintech unicorn, has issued a record-breaking EGP2.5 billion (US $49 million) corporate bond, the largest in Egypt’s history, structured in two tranches and rated BBB+ by MERIS. The company, founded in 2018, operates a digital financial ecosystem serving over 8 million users and has disbursed more than $11 billion in loans. Following a recent $157.5 million equity raise, this bond issuance strengthens MNT-Halan’s capital base and supports its strategic expansion in Egypt and internationally.
