JPMorgan Chase is acquiring Aumni, a data analytics platform for startup investors, to strengthen its relationships with venture capital firms and integrate it into its private markets platform, Capital Connect. The deal follows JPMorgan’s broader fintech acquisition strategy and addresses inefficiencies in venture capital data management, which traditionally relies on Excel. Aumni, valued at $232 million in its last funding round, has data on nearly 18,000 portfolio companies and became especially valuable during the recent Silicon Valley Bank collapse, helping investors assess their holdings and legal rights.
