Plaid, the San Francisco-based data aggregation and open banking leader, and Adyen, the Dutch e-commerce, mobile, and point-of-sale payments titan, announced a new partnership product called “Pay by Bank”, in North America, providing an alternative to traditional card payments. Pay by Bank offers a streamlined payment method for consumers to pay directly via their bank accounts, reducing the need for credit cards and related fees. Open banking payments volume is expected to surpass $57 billion in 2023.
