Finix Payments, a startup in the payments infrastructure space, has gradually transitioned from being a payments facilitator to a payments processor, allowing it to compete more aggressively with Stripe. American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa are the four main U.S. card networks that Finix says it is now directly connected to. Finix claims that because it is no longer dependent on a third-party processor, it can now provide businesses with rapid onboarding and better unit economics per transaction.
