Open Payments, an open banking platform which facilitates embedded B2B financial services and payments, announced it has raised €3 million in funding from Global Brains, Sony Financial Ventures, and previous investors Industrifonden. The platform aligns with Europe’s PSD2 directive which obligates banks to share customer information with third parties. This in turn allows Open Payments to enable direct payments flows between companies without the issuing or receiving party having to initiate the payment directly from the bank.
