Nexi Group, a European payments technology company, has agreed to pay €280 million for 80% of BANCO SABADELL’s merchant acquiring business. The deal will give Nexi access to more than 380,000 merchants and roughly €48 billion in payments transaction volume. Sabadell will join Nexi as a key partner in Spain as a result of the transaction and serve as the nation’s sole distributor of cutting-edge Nexi technologies.
