Plend, a UK-based fintech and lender working to reduce financial barriers, has raised £40 million in seed capital. Active Partners, Velocity Juice, Sivo, and the founders of Monzo, Starling Bank, and Oodle Car Finance supported the investment. Plend’s goal is to redesign the credit system which it believes discriminates against consumer applications that have limited historical data, and ignores other, readily available information that can help determine what consumers can actually afford.
