MercadoLibre, Inc., the largest e-commerce company in South America, posted third-quarter net income on Thursday, up 36% from the same period last year. Even though Mercado Lobre suffered from a slowdown in online shopping, its fintech division, Mercado Pago, offset that lower activity with increased revenue from payments made via mobile applications and QR codes in Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico.
