Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), the private venture capital firm, led a $14 million round for Rye, a new e-commerce application programming interface (API) that enables businesses, retailers, and customers to deal openly on a decentralized network with low fees. The funding will be used to expand the product and engineering teams, and to begin the decentralization process. Other investors included Solana Ventures, GOAT CAPITAL, L Catterton, Electric Ant, and Electric Feel.
