Citi Ventures, the venture capital arm of Citi, recently invested in Belvo, an open banking API platform. The investment in Belvo will fund the co-development of an ‘open finance ecosystem’ in Mexico between the bank and fintech. Belvo presently works with over 150 clients, including Mexican, Brazilian, and Columbian fintechs – Tribanco, Rappi, Mobills, and Mercado Libre – and connects to over 60 financial institutions through its API platform.
