Worldline, a global payments service provider, has finalized the acquisition of Eurobank’s merchant acquiring business in Greece. Through a joint venture established by the two businesses, Worldline will own 80% of the new company. With the acquisition, Worldline hopes to increase its footprint throughout Southern Europe, which it characterizes as a “dynamic market” with room for expansion. Greek retailers will be able to use Worldline’s products: Android POS, which enables merchants to accept payments at the register or on-the-go, Smart POS, which enables retailers to convert specific Android smartphones into payment terminals, and e-commerce solutions, like e-gateway, payment link, and live pay.
