Fed’s Powell says he doesn’t see cryptocurrencies as ‘financial stability concern’

On Wednesday, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said he doesn’t view cryptocurrencies as a “financial stability concern.”  The U.S. central-bank chief’s view is that cryptocurrencies are “really speculative assets.”  The press conference also included him calling on Congress to quickly pass legislation regarding stablecoins, and that they should only be issued by insured banks.
